This blog records the explorations of the Map History Reading Group, which was established by the Illinois Program for Research in the Humanities at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in the Fall of 2008 under the care of S. Max Edelson, Associate Professor of History, and R. Jovita Baber, Assistant Professor of History.

Members of the Reading Group also include Kelly Searsmith, independent literature and culture scholar, Assistant Director for Planning and Development of two campus institutes (eDREAM and ICHASS), and blog mistress; Ron Toby, Professor, History and East Asian Languages and Cultures; Simon Appleford, Program Manager, Illinois Center for Computing in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Science, and graduate student, History; Mary Stuart, History, Philosophy and Newspaper Librarian, University Library; Donna Cox, Michael Aiken Professor, Fine Art and Design, Director of the Advanced Visualization Laboratory at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications; and History graduate students Michelle Kleehammer, Ryan Bean, Mike Hughes, Nicolle Rivera, Jason Hansen, and Rachel Korloff.
